The 'Into The Light' tutorial series was created by professional landscape photographer William Patino and videographer Ben Coope at Leap Films along with additional assistance by David Boon and Renee Patino.
After years of running photography workshops in the field, Will wanted to provide aspiring photographers with a way to learn from him and further their skills, all at their own pace from home.
This series was shot across two seperate, week-long filming trips. The initial pre-production and episode layout was completed in the first week of filming, along with the majority of location shooting. After some post production, it was decided that extra footage, locations and conditions were needed for some episodes. This was then captured in a second week of filming.
Most shooting days were 16 hours long, with several thousand kilometres being driven across the South Island of New Zealand to make the most of time and weather windows.
The aim of the tutorials is to equip aspiring photographers with a balanced insight into the various ways to capture landscapes and edit images, commencing from the ground up and then advancing in difficulty.
Video footage was captured on a Sony FS5, Sony A7S and Kinfinity Terra.
